"Being born and growing up with a sickness made me feel weak and inferior to others. I sometimes use to think to myself, why can't i be normal? Why can't i be healthy like everyone else? To me, this was uncomfortable & challenging...
Living with a sickness isn't easy. In school, a lot of the people that i regard as friends made jokes about me and the sickness that i had. They would often ridicule me, laugh at me, bully me mentally and emotionally. Being a subject of laughter to people used to hurt me so deep inside; so much that it no longer hurts anymore...
One day, i woke up and said to myself that being sad over their remarks and constant abuse is not going to change or help my life. I will no longer let others control how i feel inside, how i feel about myself. I will stop giving them the power over me and my life. I will no longer tolerate having others dictate the way i should live my life. I have to bear it and work hard to prove to everyone that this sickness will not affect my life, my career and my dreams; to prove to others that no matter the circumstances you are born with, life is always a blessing...
My message to all those who are the victims of bullies, don’t fight against the bullies; fighting is not going to solve our problems or stop the bullying; in fact it will only make it worse. I know you're angry, because i was and i still am, but transform that anger into motivation and work hard. Prove to them that they have no power over you or your results or your life. Dignity, kindness and love always prevails. They will never win with violence...
Let it be. Let them have their fun, because if our lives can bring joy to them and to others, even as being victims of bullying, then i'd say we've lived a purposeful life. Don't feel sorry or sad for yourself. Feel good that you are stronger than they are; not because you can endure it, but because you can take the hits, and still live a happy life and treat each day as a blessing...
Stay positive and work hard; because when it comes down to the human heart, nothing is impossible..."
